Dear Dad,

Today you are 65 years old. Happy birthday :)

I’m really sad that I can’t be with you on the day you become an official senior citizen, darn growing up and working. I miss you. I hope Kendrick does something nice and takes you out to dinner or something so that you aren’t just home watching movies.

I love you dad. Thank you for everything you have done for me, especially the past 6 years I’ve been away from home doing the college thing and letting me stay in SoCal. Not a day that goes by since I moved to Irvine where I don’t think about how much you’ve had to sacrifice and work to let me live my life the way I want to.

You are my hero, my rock, my everything. I’m sorry I don’t call often and you feel as though I’m too busy with my life down here that I forget about you cause its not the case at all. I work so hard for you, I just want to make you proud and one day buy you that boat you always wanted so you can go fishing.

I will make you proud. I will go back to school and get a higher degree so that you can brag about it to all the relatives. I will find a good career and earn enough money so that you never have to work and all you have to do is watch movies, fish, and drink. I will give everything you’ve given me plus more.

Today you are 65 years old. You’ve seen a lot, done a lot, and lived a lot. But I’m just beyond grateful to you that for the past 23 years, you’ve dedicated your life to Kendrick and me by being the most amazing and loving father anyone could ever ask for.

Dad, I love you with all my heart. Happy birthday again, I will do something special for you when I go home.

Went to Elephant Bar happy hour last night to early celebrate my roomie’s 23rd birthday. Happy early birthday Marc! You young beez. Cheap food, cheap drinks, amazing company, and inappropriate conversation - I’d say the night was very successful.
